The Bouddi Society is again hosting the Bouddi Art Show this October long weekend and are looking for local artists who would be interested in entering the show. The theme this year is “Seasons”.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY TO BOUDDI SOCIETY ART SHOW
WAGSTAFFE HALL 30 SEPTEMBER – 1 OCTOBER, 2023
- a) All paintings & other objects to be hung must be ready to hang on white peg board screens (hooks will be provided). There will be some room on the stage wall for a couple of large paintings/objects (artist’s must supply hanging equipment). Large paintings may be displayed on easels (supplied by artist).
- b) Neither the height nor the width of a painting can measure more than 1 metre.
- c) Unframed paintings unable to be hung will not be accepted.
- d) Tables will be provided for scuptures & ceramics
- e) All exhibits must follow the theme ‘Seasons’.
- f) To uniquely identify exhibits, each exhibitor will be given a unique prefix to be used with a numerical code for each exhibit. By 27 September, exhibitors must provide a list of saleable items showing the code, description, medium and price.
- g) For all paintings and large sculptures, the society will provide exhibit cards that will be displayed with the exhibit. For small sculptures & ceramics, the exhibitor is responsible for attaching to each item a tag or sticker with the exhibit details.
- h) There will be a 15% commission charged on sold exhibits (this percentage includes 2% EFTPOS charge).
- j) Payment to artists will be by bank transfer within a couple of days of the show. Artists will be asked to provide their bank details.
- i) There will be an entry fee based on the amount of real estate that the artist requires. The total entry fee will be based on recouping Bouddi Society costs for hall hire, advertising, etc. (See ‘Entry Fees’ at end of page).
- k) Exhibits are to be delivered between 5 & 7pm on Friday 29 September. (It is important that exhibitors do not arrive before 5pm as the hall will be set up with screens & tables between 4 & 5pm).
- l) Where exhibits are to be displayed on tables, it is the responsibility of the exhibitor to provide a cover for the table & where appropriate to use plinths to display the work.
- m) Unsold exhibits to be collected from 3.30pm on Sunday 2 October.
- n) Artists (or a proxy) must be prepared to assist for at least 2 hours during the art show.
- o) Where appropriate, sold exhibits should remain displayed for the duration of the show.
- p) The method of allocation of screens, tables, etc will be by ballot.
- q) All exhibits displayed on screens must be within the screen boundaries.
- r) Please note that while every care will be taken to protect exhibits during display times and to secure the hall outside display times, the responsibility for the exhibits belongs to their owners and the Bouddi Society Inc. accepts no liability for any loss or damage to exhibits during the exhibition.
- s) If an artist does not want their exhibits to be posted on social media, they should inform the Bouddi Society & a suitable sign will be displayed on their screen/table.
ENTRY FEES
- a) Hanging Space
This is divided into hanging on either a screen or on the stage wall.
– Screens are 1.8 metres wide x 1 metre deep. Half a screen will cost $20 & a full screen $40.
– The stage wall will be reserved for large paintings or other large objects & will cost $15 for each work.
- b) Tables
Large tables are 1.8 x .75 metres and cost $40.
Small tables are 1 x 1 metre and cost $20.
- c) Floor Space
Large easels or other free standing objects will cost $20.
