Proudly held on Darkinjung Country.
The 5 Lands Walk is a physical, spiritual and cultural journey. A gift to you from the communities and sponsors of the Central Coast. A place where no one is excluded. A place where family, friends and the wider community are encouraged to celebrate life, have fun and connect to our deep Aboriginal history, European settlement, and who we are today. In doing so we take a step to create a more harmonious and inclusive society on the Central Coast and beyond.
The 5 Lands Walk is a day-long festival held on the Saturday closest to the winter solstice when the whales, a significant totem of the Darkinjung people, are migrating north, along 10 km of spectacular coastline. It’s only 1.5 hours from Sydney and Newcastle.
On Saturday 26 June 2021 the MacMasters Beach registration desk will open at 7.15am, and service of our famous free breakfast starts around 7.30am – limited to the first 550. At 8.00am, the Beginning Ceremony will start on the Surf Club grounds.
You’ll be Welcomed to Darkinjung Country and be entertained by the talented children from Kincumber Public School and the pre-schoolers from Imagine@MacMasters. Enjoy local performers who will be busking around the surf club. Cleanse your spirit in the Aboriginal Smoking ceremony as you start your journey on the beach. Be sure to take some photos at the various art installations and meander through The Beginning of MacMasters Beach historic photo exhibition on the sand.
